A lathe tool box comprises a body, Figs. 1-3 (not shown) clamped to the transverse carriage 3 by a clamp 2, a tool 4 carried by shims 5, 6, and a part 13 of the body which flexes to clamp the tool when a screw 14 is tightened. Part 13 is slotted at 12, and screws 19, 19<SP>1</SP> carrying washers 20, 20<SP>1</SP> limit the amount of flexing. Screw 14 is actuated by a lever, whose angular setting relative to the screw is adjustable. In a modification, Figs. 4, 5 (not shown), block 1 is connected to a shoe 25 by screws 28, 28<SP>1</SP>, tee nuts 29, 29<SP>1</SP> and a key and keyway 31, 30.
