Abstract

1,166,614. Tool holders. W. O. McKENZIE JONES. 28 Sept., 1966 [27 Oct., 1965], No. 45570/65. Heading B3T. A knee tool holder comprises a body portion 10 with a mounting extension 12 and a tool receiving recess 14, the recess having an inclined wall 16 with which an adjustable wedge 18 co-operates. A tool 22 is located in the recess 14 and is engaged on one side by the face 20 of the wedge 18. The position of the tool is adjusted transversely of the recess by the longitudinal movement of the wedge which is effected by a screw adjusting means 28 thereon. A stop member 30 is provided on the holder to determine the extent of projection of the cutting tool. When the tool position has been determined the tool is clamped by means of screws 26. The cutting tools may be preset prior to the mounting of the holder in the machine tool.
