Abstract
618,704. Laminated springs. TOLEDO WOODHEAD SPRINGS, Ltd., and WOODHEAD, F. Nov. 13, 1946, No. 33548. [Class 108 (iii)] A rebound clip for laminated springs comprises a yoke 15 with non-circular holes 18 in its arms 13, and a non-circular bar 20, adapted to pass through the holes 18 and notched to form shoulders 22a spaced apart by the width embraced by the arms and to permit rotation of the bar 20 when they register with the arms 13. In the construction shown in Figs. 2 and 7, the cross-section of the bar 20 is pear-shaped, while in an alternative construction (Figs. 10 and 11, not shown), the holes 18 and bar have the cross-section of a parallelogram. The base of the clip may be riveted near to the free end of an adjacent spring plate 11a, or in a further construction (Figs. 8 and 9, not shown) the clip may be disposed with its arms 13 parallel with the transverse axes of the plates, one of the arms 13 being riveted to its adjacent plate.
