Abstract
618,555. Antiseptic toothbrush containers. BOOSS, E. Oct. 28, 1946, No. 31874. Convention date, Nov. 1, 1945. [Class 81 (i)] [Also in Groups XVII and XXIII] A toothbrush container having a compartment containing a germicidal volatile substance is characterised in that the compartment has the form of a twopiece capsule push-fitted into one end of the container in such a manner that the outer end of the capsule is flush with the adjacent rim of the container barrel and removably maintained therein by friction. In the form shown in the drawing the container barrel 1 is closed at the bottom end by a detachable cap 2, and has its top end closed by a pressed in capsule the outer end of which is flush with the adjacent rim 1a of the barrel. The capsule consists of a top 3 with a flanged edge and a bottom 4 with a similar flanged edge and when closed the top and bottom are joined by the overlapping flanged edges. The germicidal substance is in the form of a pellet 5 which can vaporise into the barrel of the container through holes in the bottom part 4. The flanged edges of the top 3 and bottom 4 are each provided with radial slits 8 which divide the edges into separate segments. These segments spread slightly when the capsule is removed from the barrel so that in the closed position shown they press against the side of the barrel 1 effecting a frictional closure. The pellet 5 is removed by removing the cap 2 and pushing the capsule 3, 4 out of the barrel by means of the tooth brush contained therein.
