Abstract
617,943. Bracelets. MATTHEWS, H., and KIRSCH, M., (trading as MATTHEWS & CO., H.). Oct. 5, 1946. No. 29724. [Class 43] A. fastener for a bracelet of the type wherein rectangular frames are inter-connected by tubular links, comprises a flat plate having at one end a rolled-over knuckle by which it is attached to the bracelet and at the other end a hook bent round to lie on the same side of the plate as the knuckle and of a width providing equal spaces between its side edges and side flanges bent up at right angles from the plate. The bracelet may comprise two unequal lengths of chain 4, 5, each having a watch-bor attachment device 6 at one end, and the shorter length 4 having an end loop 7 through which the longer length 5 is threaded before being folded back on itself, so that a fastener 8 attached to the end link of this length can be engaged with an intermediate link thereof. The fastener 8 comprises a flat part 12, a hook 13 which extends under the part 12 and which will engage a link 3, side flanges 14 which will embrace the end bars 1 of a frame, and a rolledover hinge part 15 by which the fastener is attached at the end of the chain length 5. The frames, links and fasteners may be bent up from metal blanks.
