Abstract

616,468. Building slabs. PERRY, A. R. Sept. 4, 1946, No. 26615. [Classes 20(iv) and 87(i)] A flooring or roofing slab comprises a concrete or other plastic layer 7 provided on its lower face with a dished or arched metal sheet 1 which may have a flat margin 2. The metal sheet may be arched in both directions or in one direction only. The slab may be provided with a peripheral wooden frame 4 held together by a metal band 5 and carrying nails 6 to key with the concrete, or the metal sheet 18 may have a flange 19 with pressed-out loops 23 for connection of adjacent slabs. The slab may be strengthened by a metal ring 21 positioned by lugs 20 on the metal sheet, by corrugations or ribs formed in the sheet, or by wires spanning the arched portion. The edges of the slab may be rabbeted to engage girders or to receive wires, pipes &c. Wooden fillets may be embedded in the concrete to act as nailing strips.
