Abstract

616,224. Boxes convertible to seats. AINGE, S. C. Aug. 30, 1946, No. 26140. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (iii)] [Also in Group I] The lid 2 of a travelling case 1 lifts to form a seat back and to expose a platform 8 serving as a seat for a child. A tray 16 supported by pivoted links 17 is provided and by means of pivoted rear supports 20 with cam grooves 29 to engage pins 28 on lugs 26 carried by the lid the latter serves automatically to erect and fold the tray as the case is opened or closed. The platform 8 may be apertured to receive a sanitary receptacle 11 normally stored in the case and the device then serves as a commode. For normal use the aperture is closed by a lid 14.
