[Classes 106 (ii) and 106 (iv)] In indicating-apparatus motion is supplied to a pointer 1 through a link 6 by means which are adjustable so that while one end of the pointer moves in a rectilinear guide 3 the indicating end 4 moves in a rectilinear path normal to the guide 3. The adjustment may be provided by a turn-buckle connecting-rod 9 between an operating lever 10 and lever 11 connected to the link 6 through its pivot 7, the connections also being adjustable. Limit stops 15 may co-operate with the lever 11. If the motion is derived from a " Bourdon " tube 12, it may be connected to a nipple 13 through a spiral tube 14 of capillary size to protect the gauge from vibrations. Supports 20, 21 for the mechanism are carried by a plate 18 fixed in the casing, which plate 18 has series of holes 19 for facilitating bending and protecting the gauge further from vibration. The invention may be applied to recording apparatus. Specification 597,644 is referred to.
