Abstract

615,968. Combs. UNIVERSAL PLASTICS, Ltd., and JOHNSTON, J. Aug. 27, 1946, No. 25562. [Class 131] [Also in Group V] A comb in which the teeth are offset from the back portion is moulded from plastic material in a two part mould, the teeth being formed in grooves in one part and the back in a recess in the other part, one side of the recess overlapping one end of each of the grooves to form the junction between the teeth and the back. As shown the teeth are formed in grooves 13 in the mould part 11 and the back in a recess 14 in the mould part 10 the halves of the mould coming together along the parting plane 12. The channel 15 is provided for injection of the plastic material. The combs may be flat or curved and the teeth straight or sinuous.
