Abstract

614,794. Flexible tube pumps. STOCKS, R. K. July 30, 1946, No. 22663. [Class 110 (ii)] A pump for slimy fluids comprises one or more reinforced resilient tubes 1 pressed upon continuously by rollers 6 through a chain-andsprocket gear 8. The tubes are preferably supported in resilient saddles 21 mounted on a table 2 which is carried by weighted levers 4. Valves 17 may be provided. Rollers 11 bear on a track 14. A pipe 25 may be used to blow in compressed air, to clear stoppages, or supply lubricant. The levers 4 may be replaced by springs or hydraulic jacks. To prevent creeping, the tube 1 and its support may be roughened. The output pipe 15 may have a smaller bore than the inlet.
