Abstract
614,683. Photographic projection printing apparatus. GRANVILLE, GULLIMAN, & CO., Ltd., and WALDIE, S. B. July 19, 1946, No. 21700. [Class 98 (i)] In apparatus for printing from opaque negatives or originals, the supports for the negative &c. and for the printing surface are arranged close together at an obtuse angle, the light from the negative &c. being reflected by two or more reflectors on to the printing surface. As shown, the negative with a mask 22 is -placed in an aperture 20 of an inclined wall 12 of a light-tight box 10 and held in position by pressure of a spring-biassed, hinged backing member 24 of red or orange transparent material. One or more sources 47 illuminate the negative, and light therefrom is reflected at a fixed mirror 43, passes through a lens 16 mounted in a partition 13 of the box, and reflected at a fixed mirror 45 to form an image at the printing surface. The printing paper is supported by a mask 34 fitting in an aperture 33 in the wall 11, and held by a pad of e.g. cellular rubber on a support 37. This support is normally spring-urged away from the wall, but is held against the paper by turnbuckles (not shown).
