Abstract
<PICT:0614582/III/1> Apparatus for applying slurries of plaster, cement, mortar, &c. to ceilings, walls, &c. comprises a curved tube 1 mounted on a handle 4 and having a pivoted valve 8 controlled by a trigger 5, the tube being coupled at one end to a hose &c. 13a through which the slurry is supplied and having at the other end a cap 10 with a sharply restricted outlet terminating in a nozzle 11, so that the slurry is compacted or densified before leaving the nozzle. A pipe 18 through which air or gas under pressure is delivered under the control of a cock 20 is slidably adjustable in a gland 16 on a branch pipe 14 of the tube 1, the pipe 18 being so located that the pressure air or gas impinges on a compact mass of slurry in the nozzle. After use, the tube 1 is cleared of residual slurry by applying a flat closure to the nozzle 11, opening valve 8 and blowing out the tube 1 with pressure air &c.
