Abstract

613,924. Boilers; air heating stoves. PORAY, M. C. K. DE. Aug. 30, 1945, No. 22323. Convention date, April 29, 1941. [Classes 64(i) and 123(ii)] [Also in Group XII] In a boiler comprising a primary combustion chamber 2 to which is connected a flue 4 forming a secondary combustion chamber in which gases from the primary combustion chamber are completely burnt with secondary air, and a liquid receptacle 3 disposed adjacent to the secondary combustion chamber, those portions of the walls 10 of the liquid receptacle that are adjacent to the flue 4 are separated by a space 10a and receive heat by radiation therefrom, and the flue 4 is open at its upper end only to the said space. Secondary air is supplied tangentially to an annular combustion space around the bottom of the flue 4 through an inlet 11.The hot gases leaving the flue 4 flow downwardly through an annular passage 10a between the flue and the annular water container 3, and then upwardly through a ring of tubes 7 to an outlet 13 leading to the chimney. A direct outlet 14 controlled by a damper 16 is also provided. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the steam boiler described in Specification 616,266, a horizontal boiler, and a hot-air stove. In the horizontal boiler, Fig. 5 (Cancelled), fuel is fed to the primary combustion chamber 148 by an automatic stoker 152, and secondary air is supplied tangentially behind the firebridge 149 by outlets 154 from a pipe 155. In the air-heating stove, Fig. 6 (Cancelled), fuel is supplied to the stepped grate 202 from a hopper 203, and the hot gases evolved mixed with secondary air from the passage 206, pass between tangential blades 208 into the secondary combustion chamber 210, the walls of which have fins 212, 213. Air is heated as it flows through the space between the chamber 210 and a surrounding wall 211, and over the outer surface of the latter. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
