Abstract
613,542. Hydraulic machines. ARMSTRONG, J. J. V. (Vickers, Inc.). April 3, 1946, No. 10232. [Class 69(ii)] The supply of liquid to the motor 16 is controlled by a bye-pass valve 28 to maintain a constant tension on the fabric on the driven reel 22. The valve body contains a valve 40 self-adjusting to maintain a constant pressure drop across the metering bye-pass valve 67 between the spaces 54 and 80. Increased load on the reel increases the pressure in the space 50, lifting piston 64 to open the bye-pass valve. In a modification, the curved portion of the valve 67 is provided with curved slots.
