[Class 110 (iii)] In a turbine plant in which the air or other working medium circulates in a closed circuit, the heat-exchanger 7 is built directly on to the exhaust side of the low-pressure turbine stage 3 and, preferably, the compressor 4 is also, at its inlet side, built directly on to the heatexchanger. The turbine exhaust passage merges without much change of area into a diffusor 6 before the heat-exchanger and the delivery from the heat-exchanger, after passing a cooler 9, is speeded up in a nozzle-like part 71 before the compressor. In a modification the heater may be in two parallel connected parts or may be U-shaped. One bearing for the low-pressure turbine may be in the diffuser 6.
