[Class 142(iii)] A shuttle for automatic bobbin changing looms has a guide member 12, Fig. 2. associated with the tip 13 of the threading block and disposed so that the weft passes between the guide and the tip on the first pick after bobbin change, but is prevented from unthreading on the second pick. The guide 12 may have a shank driven into a hole in the shuttle or may be attached to the shuttle by a screw, packing 30 being used to adjust the clearance between the guide and the tip 13; or the guide may be attached to a vertical face on the threading block by a screw passing through a vertical slot in the guide. The guide may be integral with the threading block, which is then made of malleable metal so that the clearance can be adjusted by bending it. A channel 14 in the guide may be parellel to the axis of the shuttle or at an angle. The upper end of the guide may be serrated as shown in Fig. 9. A pivoted guide 44, Fig. 13, may be used, a spring keeping it normally in contact with the tip 13.
