Abstract

566,816. Loom floatdetectors. BRIDGE, R. E. May 10, 1943, No. 7358. [Class 142 (i)] A stop mechanism operative upon breakage of a warp or other fault in the shed, comprises a hookshaped member k arranged to be projected into the path t of the ballooning weft thread when a cam is engaged by the bunched warp threads u. The member k breaks the weft thread and brings about stoppage of the loom in the usual manner. The member k and the cam are mounted in a tubular casing d arranged in a bore in the end of the shuttle remote from the cop. The member k is pivotally mounted in slots in the casing and has a projection o engaging in a slot q in a plunger e arranged within the casing d. The plunger is normally held by the cam down against a spring f. Upon pivoting of the cam j, the plunger is pressed upwardly by the spring, and by engaging the projection o forces the member k into the path of the weft thread.
