[Class 92 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIV] In an overload-release drive for a belt feedsprocket 111, for feeding- ammunition to a machine-gun or rapid-fire cannon, the sprocket is intermittently driven by oscillating arms 113, connected through coil-spring one-way clutches 114 to a shaft 110, driving the sprocket 111 through a coil-spring clutch 118 having a torque-responsive radially-free extension 119 anchored at its outer end to the driven reel 111. Under excessive load the free section 119 yields torsionally, whereupon the inner end 122 of the clutch-spring 118 contacts an abutment 123 on the driven sprocket 111, which expands the clutch-spring out of engagement with a drum 117 pinned to the driving shaft 110. Manual disengagement can also be effected by applying a push and turn to a spring-loaded handled shaft 124, carrying a disc 127 having peripheral notches which engage the end 122 of the clutch-spring 118 to expand it out of clutch-engagement.
