Abstract

584,472. Free-wheel clutches. CAMILLIS, L. Nov. 4, 1944, No. 21644. [Class 80 (ii)] To allow the use of a small-diameter portion a in a cycle hub, the actuating thread of a screwactuated positive free-wheel clutch-sleeve l comprises an external thread l<2> on the sleeve engaging an internal thread in a driving 'sprocket-carrier sleeve f which runs freely in a larger-diameter portion d of the hub. The screwed clutch-sleeve l has inclined facial clutch-teeth l<3> engaging similar teeth on a ring h, fixedly screwed into the hub-portion d. A pair of oppositely-extending drag-springs l<4> secured to the clutch-sleeve l bear frictionally on the hub to disengage the clutch-sleeve when drive ceases.
