Abstract
Synthetic resin gels which have been used for the removal of impurities of an organic nature from aqueous liquids are regenerated by dissolving the impurities accumulated in the gels in aqueous electrolyte solutions, preferably in alkaline solutions, without rinsing, and then wholly or partly removing these impurities by rinsing with water, preferably hot water, or, in a modification, part of the impurities dissolved may be rinsed out by the electrolyte solution and then the remainder by rinsing with hot water. The treatment with water preferably takes place at a higher temperature than that at which the previous or subsequent quantity of liquid to be purified is treated.ALSO:Synthetic resin gels which have been used for the removal of impurities of an organic nature from sugar solutions are regenerated by dissolving the impurities accumulated in the gels in aqueous electrolyte solutions, preferably in alkaline solutions, without rinsing, and then wholly or partly removing these impurities by rinsing with water, preferably hot water, or, in a modification, part of the impurities dissolved may be rinsed out by the electrolyte solution and then the remainder by rinsing with hot water. The treatment with water preferably takes place at a higher temperature than that at which the previous or subsequent quantity of liquid to be purified is treated.
