[Class 83 (iv)] [Also in Groups XXXIV and XXXVI] In a bearing comprising iron through which is finely dispersed from 0.5 to 50 per cent of indium, an intimate mixture of powdered iron and indium is pressed to shape, and sintered at a temperature below the melting point of iron, e.g. at 1200‹ C., the intimate mixture being prepared either by electrolytic codeposition of iron and indium on to a backing, or by mechanically powdering a coherent deposit obtained by such a process.
