Abstract
611,373. Mixing-machines. ATHEY, J. W. April 30, 1946, No. 12959. [Class 86] A dough-mixing machine comprises a horizontal cylindrical drum a provided on its inner surface with ribs, and two or more mixing members f carried by and extending between brackets e carried by a rotatable shaft d, the members f being disposed so as to traverse a path adjacent the interior surface of the drum a. The ribs may be arranged in two series a<1>, a<2>, oppositely inclined in relation to the axis of the drum, and overlapping at the inner ends. The members f may be of truncated conical form as shown and opposite or alternate members are arranged to taper in opposite directions. The materials to be mixed are fed from a trough a<3> along a chute a<4> through a drum opening controlled by a sliding door g. A hinged discharging door h is provided, and an electric control switch may be operable by the opening of the door h so that the machine will be stopped after a determined time sufficient to permit of discharge and will be re-started when the door is closed again. The ribs a<1>, a<2> may, alternatively, be formed as series of spaced projections. The Provisional Specification describes a construction in which the members f are carried by a single bracket e.
