Abstract
609,536. Optical gauging-apparatus. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. March 13, 1946, No. 7861. Convention date, March 15, 1945. [Class 106 (ii)] In a measuring microscope, the optical system of which can be displaced along a base through an accurately measurable distance in at least one direction, the base is provided with one or more stop surfaces thereon adapted to abut gauge blocks and thereby extend the range of measurement. The usual surface plate supporting the work-piece to be measured may have registration or guide strips secured thereto. The microscope shown has stop surfaces 14 at the corners of the base 1 on which the optical system 4 is displaceable along slideways by means of a micrometer screw 15. A further adjustment comprises a slide 5 operated by a micrometer screw 6 and adapted to be rotated about a supporting column 3. The base 1 is apertured and may be supported on detachable legs. The microscope can be used in conjunction with a work support comprising two spaced centres for receiving the work, and the sides of the base of the support may be formed as straight edges to abut the stop surfaces on the microscope.
