608,280. Fire extinguishers. McDOWELL, C. J. Feb. 25, 1946, No. 5881. [Class 47 (ii)] In a fire extinguisher head having a separate blow-out plug assembly A, the blow-out plug 23 has a stem portion 25 with a detonator cavity 30 connected by holes 31 to a circumferential groove 25a on the stem which, together with a ring 27, forms the explosion chamber. The stem portion 25 is also recessed at 41 to form a frangible wall 42 between the recess 41 and the groove 25a. The plug assembly is secured by an externally-threaded nut 29 on an internal flange 10 of a tubular member 7 which connects the reservoir 5 to the nozzlehead 17. Specification 578,243 is referred to.
