[Class 44] [Also in Group XXX] In a cable or rope grip comprising a block A, provided with a channel 1 for the cable or rope, and a channel 2 accommodating a metal or like ball B which is pressed into engagement with the cable or rope to grip it by means of a screw D, the opposite end of the channel 2 is closed by a screw C. The Provisional Specification describes also a block having two channels A', A<5>.< >The wire is placed in the hole A<5> and the balls in a channel A<1> in which they are locked during transit by split-pins C, C<1>. In a modification, shown in Fig. 4, a hole H' is bored at an angle to meet a hole H<4> in which the wire is placed.
