Abstract

607,496. Sheet - delivery apparatus. TIMSONS, Ltd., and MILES, G. R. H. Feb. 6, 1946, No. 3742. [Class 100 (i)] In a sheet-delivery mechanism wherein the sheets are automatically piled on delivery and a support 1 for the pile is automatically adjusted in conformity with the accumulation of sheets thereon, a shaft 2 from which the support 1 is raised and lowered is driven by an electric motor 14 controlled from a switch under the control of a feeler 10 adapted to contact with the top of the pile whereby the motor is started and stopped in accordance with the requirements of the feeler. The support 1 is suspended from chains 3 passing over sprockets 4, 5 and 6, the sprocket 4 being driven by a worm on the shaft 2. The member 10 is pivoted at 11 on a normally fixed horizontal arm 12 carrying a switch member adapted to close contacts 18. A hand starter may be provided to enable the motor to be used additionally for raising and lowering the pile preparatory to loading &c., the arm 12 being moved to the broken-line position.
