Abstract

1,169,087. Feeding sheets. MABEG MASCHINENBAU G.m.b.H. NACHF. HENSE & PLEINES G.m.b.H. & CO. 1 Feb., 1967, No. 4802/67. Heading B8R. Pile tables.-The lifting and lowering of the sheet stack 5 of a sheet processing machine is controlled by a multiple position limit switch 13 settable in a position 15 connecting the drive means for lifting the stack carrier 3 and in a position 14 for lowering the carrier, the switch having a third intermediate position constituting an " off " position. A detecting means comprising arm 11a supporting roller 11 engages the top surface of the stack when this reaches a predetermined upper level snapping arm 12 from the " up " position to the " off " position. The descent of the stack is arrested at a predetermined lower level position by chain 2, which forms part of the drive transmission to carrier 3, forcing arm 12 out of its " down " position via arm 19 and into the " off" position. Arm 20 is engaged by set screw 8 to move switch 13 from the " up " to the " off " positions when the carrier 3 is being raised without a stack thereon. Progressive raising of the stack as sheets are removed by separator 32 is controlled by switch 35. Probe 24 follows the descent of the top surface of the stack and at a predetermined level closes switch 35, which, provided switch 12 is in the " off position, energizes auxiliary lifting motor 30 to raise the stack until contacts 26 and 27 of switch 35 once again become disengaged.
