Abstract
4 : 41-Dioxy-3 : 31-diamino-arseno-benzene-sodium-methane-sulphoxylate is prepared by the simultaneous reduction and condensation of 3-nitro-4-hydroxy-arsinic acid with the sodium salt of methane-sulphoxylic acid in a solvent, followed by immediate precipitation by the addition of a liquid or a mixture of liquids miscible with the solvent and in which the required product is insoluble or sparingly soluble, e.g. when the reaction is effected in water, ethyl or methyl alcohol, ether or a mixture of these solvents may be added.
