Abstract

606,845. Spray-producers. SMITH, J. V. BRIGHT-. Jan. 21, 1946, No. 1968. [Class 69(iii)] To trap large droplets in a medicinal atomiser, the atomiser tube 12, which discharges radially, is disposed axially in a phial 1 and is surrounded by a screen 6, in the wall of which an opening 11 is provided in a position remote from the outlet 5 of the atomiser. As shown, the screen is supported by a split collar 7 which is provided on a supporting ring 8 located so that the opening 11 is diametrically opposite the outlet 5. The phial is secured to exclude air in a frame 2, 3 which also makes an air-tight connection with the screen mouth and the support ring, and compresses a washer 15 on an upper carrier-member 14. The member 14 has a union 13 for connecting the atomiser to a supply of compressed air or gas and is preferably provided with a quick-release bayonet catch, Figs. 3, 5, 7 (not shown).
