Abstract
606,737. Shearing. LYCHE, E.. Jan. 17, 1946, No. 1655. Convention date, Feb. 10, 1945. [Class 83 (iv)] In a shearing-machine with U-shaped frame carrying an electromotor and eccentric gear for reciprocating the upper cutter, the electromotor is eccentrically mounted to allow of variation of stroke. The electromotor rotates an eccentric with connecting rod 18 joined by a bell-crank lever 20, 23 to the upper cutter slide 28. Hand adjustment of the electromotor in its eccentric mounting raises the slide 28 to allow of insertion of the work. Adjustment to the position shown in Fig. 6 provides a double reciprocation of small amplitude, whilst the adjustment shown in Fig. 7 gives a single reciprocation of larger amplitude.
