606,237. Electric cables. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Jan. 11, 1946, No. 1024. Convention date, Jan. 18, 1945. [Class 36] An electric cable comprises a conductor 1 surrounded by a jacket 3 which has a plurality of webs 4 of insulating material extending inwardly, but ending some distance from the conductor 1. Spacing means are provided between the conductor 1 and the inner ends of the webs 4, engaging the latter in predetermined space intervals and any part of the conductor on a portion of its periphery. The spacing means may comprise a cord 2 of insulating material wound in an open. helix around the conductor 1. The jackets 3 and cord, 2 may both consist of polyethylene or polystyrene.
