624,029. Air-space cables. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Jan. 10, 1947, No. 973. Convention date, Jan. 12, 1946. [Class 36] An air-space cable consists of three conducting strip members 3, 4 and 5, embedded in insulating material 1, 2 so that air spaces 6, 7 are formed between adjacent conducting members. The outer strips 3, 4 may be connected together in parallel to form one conducting path, the centre strip 5 forming another. The two halves 1, 2 may be held together by a braiding (not shown) to which the outer conductors may be attached, and the cable may be twisted to ensure flexibility.
