Abstract
685,705. Welding cables. WREFORD, F. S. Feb. 7, 1950, No. 3104/50. Class 36. A flexible welding cable 10 comprises a tubular flexible insulating casing 35 enclosing an.insulating strip 31 of dumbbell shaped cross-section which lies between the flatter sides of a pair of approximately semi-circular flexible conductors 32, 33, each of which consists of a multiplicity of very fine wires separated from each other by minute interstices which form passages for a cooling liquid, the conductors and the strip being disposed loosely within the casing 35 and twisted spirally as a unit lengthwise of the cable. The cable may be fitted with the terminal described in Specification 685,746.
