606,115. Fluid-actuated valves. PIQUEREZ, E. April 27, 1945, No. 10735. Convention date, Jan. 13, 1944. [Class 135] In apparatus for filling a receptacle R with liquid and having automatic cut-off of the liquid when a pre-determined level is reached and in which the liquid passes at least in part through an injector 4, 5 to produce a pressure reduction in a diaphragm chamber 10 when a level-detecting tube 21 is closed by the liquid, the pressure reduction deflects the diaphragm and frees a stop 12 from the valve 1 so that it closes against its seat 42 under the pressure of the liquid flowing through the apparatus. The valve is automatically returned to its normal open position when the liquid supply is cut off and the liquid pressure is insufficient to resist the pressure of a spring 18 loading a relief valve 16. Liquid passes from the inlet 35, through the openings 32 in the valve 1 and the injector into the reservoir, if the flow is small. If the flow is large, the valve 16 is opened so that liquid also passes through the opening 37. The movement of the valve 1 is braked by the dash-pot 26.
