Abstract
606,005. Cathode-ray tubes. BABBS, C. H., and PYE, Ltd. March 2, 1946, No. 6548. [Class 39 (i)] In a cathode-ray tube having the beam focused and deflected electromagnetically, two magnetic members 5, 6 are disposed diametrically opposite with respect to the gun axis and between the gun 2 and the focusing coil 3, and are mounted for rotational and longitudinal adjustment to correct astigmatism introduced by the deflecting coils or the gun or both. The members 5 and 6 are soft iron pins supported on a tubular ring 7 of non-magnetic material, the pins being parallel to the axis of the ring which is adapted to slide on the neck of the cathode-ray tube and is provided with a longitudinal slit to impart a resilient grip and a collar 9 with a knurled edge.
