Abstract
605,891. Suspending cables. COMMUNICATIONS PATENTS, Ltd., HUGHES, L. E. C., and ROSCOE, R. V. Nov. 7, 1945, No. 29636. [Classes 36 and 38 (i)] A suspension arrangement for a coaxial cable having a wire braid covering consists of disposing a portion of the cable in a cavity in an anchoring device and loading the cavity with a substance that sets hard and grips the braid. The anchoring device may consist of a member 6 with a cap portion 7, beneath which is a hollow chamber 8. Passageways 12 are provided between the exterior of the body and a well 13, each of which has a cavity 15 opening into it and extending beyond it. When a cable 17 is in position the appropriate cavity 15 is filled with hardening substance 18. Connections may be made within the well 13 between the ends of the conductior 20. Tappings may be made by means of conductor 22, for which purpose passages 16 may be provided. The cap 7 screws down on to a gasket ring 23.
