Abstract

604,199. Fire-extinguishers. NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION CO., Ltd., PRYKE, D., and WINN, R. C. Feb. 27, 1945, No. 4887. [Class 47 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] In fire-extinguishing apparatus in which a fluid container B is closed by a sealing disc B' adapted to be pierced by a hollow punch, the punch C having an inclined cutting edge C<SP>1</SP> at one end is open at the other end so as to act as part of the discharge passage for the fluid. To assist discharge, lateral openings F<SP>3</SP> are provided. The punch is urged towards the disc B<SP>1</SP> by a spring D and is normally held retracted by a pin E controlled by a lever E<SP>1</SP>.
