Abstract

An apparatus for coating blocks comprises a conveyer adapted to convey a block successively past a first set of liquid spraying nozzles, a trip member adapted to turn the block through 90 degrees, fingers adapted to turn the block through 90 degrees in a plane different from that through which the block is turned by the trip member, and a second set of liquid-spraying nozzles. Referring to the drawings, a block 31 is fed to conveyer belt 4 between inlet guides 12 and is sprayed by the first set of spraying nozzles 18. The block is then turned through a right angle by trip 28, steadied by guide 29, and swung through an angle of 90 degrees in a plane at right angles to the first movement by fingers 30 so that it presents to the second set of spraying nozzles 18 surfaces unsprayed by the first set. The treated blocks leave the apparatus through outlet guides 13. The nozzles may be provided with an adjustable needle valve to vary the amount of spray liquid delivered.
