Abstract
603,039. Sighting levels. RIDLEY, C. W. Nov. 16, 1945, No. 30844. [Class 97 (ii)] The line of sight is vertically downwards through a graticule 8 and bubble level 7 and is reflected into the horizontal 12 by a prism or reflector 6. A swivelling rest 9 is provided so that an abutment surface 14 adapted to rest on the datum surface may be swung down to the level of the sighting line 12. Lenses 3, 4 may be provided. The instrument may be incorporated in the stock 1 of a builder's level or may be pivotally attached to a builder's level, which then forms the rest. The bubble tube 7 may be carried by an adjustable clip or may be held on a resilient pad by a clip and adjusted by differential tightening of the retaining screws.
