602,937. Embossing-presses. McCHESNEY, P. J., and SHACKLETON, H. Nov. 12, 1945, No. 30173. [Class 100(i)] A hand press for embossing seals &c. on paper sheets is provided with steps 9-11 and 9<1>-11<1>, Fig. 1, or with an integral or removable block or frame 18, Fig. 3, having slots 19-21 and 19<1>-21<1> or horizontal slots. Fig, 2 (not shown), the sheet being moved up to any one of the steps or into any one of the slots whereby the distance of the impression from the edge of the sheet may be varied. The member 18 may be made of metal or plastic and may be welded,. brazed, soldered,' bolted or secured by adhesive to the machine base 1 or to lugs 2. The rear faces of the slots may be curved or sloped (forward in the case of the steps).
