602,226. Windows in vehicle hoods. CARBODIES, Ltd., and ORR, J. H. Feb. 7, 1946, No. 3837. [Class 20(iii)] A means for securing a transparent panel in an opening in the flexible hood of a motor-car comprises a channelled rubber strip 14 which receives and grips the edge of the transparent member and has its outer edge formed to receive and grip the beaded boundary of the opening. The bead is formed by enclosing a beading loop 12 in the edge of the canvas by stiching 13. For rectangular openings the beading loop may be of elastic, but for openings having a convex edge, a loop of wire is used. A decorative loop 20, of metal, plastic or coloured rubber may be inserted in the chanelled strip.
