Abstract

601,372. Bricklayers' templets; casting walls in situ. FELL, C. A. April 10, 1946, No. 15072/47. Divided out of 597,018. [Class 20(ii)] A building is constructed by using blocks whose upper and lower bedding faces are provided each with one or more grouting grooves communicating with one or more grouting grooves formed in one or both end bedding faces of the block, the blocks being laid dry in accurate location prior to being grouted together by grout poured into the vertical grooves. The blocks 1, Fig. 1, may be aligned by spiral strips or wires 3 having the same diameter or cross-sectional shape and size as the grooves 2 in the blocks. The strips may be left in position as reinforcement or may be removed prior to grouting. Bars or tubes may be used instead of spiral strips. The blocks may be positioned by being laid against the plane face of a beam 5, Fig. 2, which is vertically adjustable on vertical posts 4. The grouting is effected after every few courses of blocks have been laid.
