600,864. Rifle sights. PILKINGTON, S. M. Oct. 9, 1945, No. 26363. [Class 119] A rifle sight comprises an aperture backsight 13 having a diameter greater than that of the pupil of the human eye, e.g. 7 millimeters, and an aperture foresight 14 having a greater diameter, e.g. 30 millimeters, such that it subtends the same angle as the backsight at the marksman's eye in the aiming position situated, e.g. 6 ins. from the backsight. Lenses may be inserted in either the backsight or in both sights. Specification 570,558 is referred to.
