[Class 17(ii)] A single blank of suitable shape with a partially hardened area for the 'foot and leg portions and an unhardened margin is bent into boot shape and the unhardened margins brought together by felting or hardening treatment. The margins may be secured by stitching before the hardening treatment is applied and additional fibrous material may be applied to the margins to facilitate joining. The boot may then be finished in any desired manner. Specification 600,803, [Group VIII], is referred to.
