735,724. Top boots. MANUFACTURES DE ST.-MARCEL. Dec. 18, 1952 [Dec. 22, 1951; June 5, 1952], No. 32126/52. Class 17 (2). A top boot comprises ventilating channels A, B at the front and rear of the leg respectively, having openings 4, 6 into the foot space. A porous sole 9, for example of sisal braid, may be provided. The channels may be formed by enclosing a cord forming a core with a flexible band which is stuck by its lateral edges to the exterior of the boot; the cord then being removed to leave an uninterrupted channel. The flexible band may then be covered and the openings 4, 6 are made through the upper of the boot. Alternatively, longitudinally ribbed bands may be used.
