Abstract

485,086. Tennis &c. balls. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., and BALL, S. G. Oct. 13,1936, No. 27740. [Class 132 (ii)] A rubber ball for tennis and like games is covered by applying thereto suitable sections of textile cloth which has been milled until it is only partly fulled, or is fulled to a predetermined or limited extent, and, after application, renewing or repeating the fulling operation to obtain a substantially seamless cloth covering. The textile cloth before being cut into the sections may be teaselled to raise the nap, or the teaselling may be done after the sections have been applied to the ball and either before or after the final fulling operation. When teaselling has followed the second fulling operation, a further fulling operation may be made to consolidate the nap created by the teaselling.
