Abstract
599,965. Tubular heat-exchange elements. VISSER, J. M. Dec. 19, 1945, No. 34401. Convention date, June 7, 1944. [Class 64 (iii)] In a heat-exchange element comprising concentric tubes 1 and 2 forming spaces for the passage of the heat exchange fluids, and having a helically coiled wall 3 arranged in the annular space between the tubes, through which the medium to be heated or cooled is passed, the radial distance A between the inner wall surface of the outer tube and the outer wall surface of the inner tube is equal to at least twice the distance B, measured parallel to the axis, between two successive turns of the helical wall. The thickness of the wall, where it adjoins the inner tube is equal to at least one third of the distance B and the wall may gradually increase in thickness from the inner tube to the outer. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, refers to Specification 404,077, German Specification 642,878 and U.S.A. Specifications 1,854,619 and 2,060,936. These references do not appear in the Specification as accepted.
