[Classes 99 (i) and 99 (ii)] In piping for hot fluids, of the type comprising inner and outer walls, and a heat-insulating layer 3 between them, the sections 2 of the inner wall are each connected at one end to the outer wall 4 in a fluid-tight manner so that, while the inner walls are subjected to equal pressures on both sides, the fluid cannot flow along the space between the walls. As shown, a coned connecting-piece 7 is welded to the inner wall section 2 and a flange 8 held between flanges 5 welded on the outer wall sections 4. A protecting ring 12 is provided around the insulation 3 and at the free end of each section 2 is provided a coned protecting ring 13, which may have tongues 15, Fig. 3, bearing against the outer wall. A wall 25, of perforated sheet metal or of wire netting may also be provided around the insulation 3, the outer face of which may be longitudinally corrugated. The outer wall 4 may also be surrounded by an insulating layer 16, which may be of different material to the layer 3. In a modification, the ends of the inner tube sections 2 overlap the connecting-piece 7 and the ring 13, and the gap between the sections is shielded by a perforated centering ring mounted on the free end of each tube section. In a bend section, the gap between inner tube sections is inclined to the axis of the tube in order to lie in a zone of equal pressure.
