Classes 61 (i) and 61 (ii)] Eyed tools or implements such as hammers. spades, shovels, hoes, rakes &c. in which the head is formed with a socket for the handle have the head formed integrally with extending parts or lugs provided with inwardly projecting barbs &c. 4 to penetrate the handle 3 and secure the tool head thereon. The extending parts 1 may be surrounded by an encircling clamping ring and may be separately formed from the eved head and their lower ends held in position by outwardly radial penetration within recesses formed within the eye when the handle is driven in. In the soft-face hammer shown the rolled hide &c. faces 5 are secured by spurred, &c. pins 8.
