Fixing by self grip sockets.-In a pick, axe, or like tool provided with removable ends or points E, Fig. 1, having a tapered shank F to fit into a corresponding tapered socket in the blade or body, the ends or points E are forced out by driving a round drift, Fig. 3, with a flat side cut to form a wedge into a round hole G which intersects the tapered socket at right-angles. A pick point, an axe, a hammer bead and a claw may be included in the set of movable parts.
